Core Gameplay
TintTrace focuses on precision drawing: you must connect colour pairs by tracing a continuous line that does not intersect itself or other lines, but you are allowed to ‘jump’ over existing lines using limited bridge tokens (introduced later). The primary goal is to connect all pairs using the fewest bridges possible. This adds a resource management element.
Level & Content Design
The game includes 240 puzzles across three modes: Classic (no bridges), Bridge (limited bridges provided), and Master (bridge tokens earned by efficiency). Puzzle sizes range from 5×5 to 14×14. The final 40 puzzles are ‘challenge’ variants with asymmetrical boards. No procedural generation is used; each puzzle has been playtested by at least two individuals.
Visuals & Experience
A technical, blueprint-inspired design with grid lines resembling graph paper. Colour trails are semi-transparent, allowing you to see overlap warnings. Zoom and pan are gesture-controlled. A ‘ghost hand’ tutorial mode demonstrates the first level. Performance is optimised for devices with limited memory.

A ‘bridge counter’ tracks remaining tokens. The hint system suggests where a bridge might be useful. You can export your puzzle progress as a plain text string to share with friends (no server upload). No advertisements or data collection occur.
