Description
Core Gameplay
LinkTint presents a twist on the classic ‘connect the colours’ formula: instead of filling every cell, you must connect each colour pair with a path that does not cross any other path, but empty cells are permitted as long as all pairs are linked. This relaxes the ‘full board’ constraint, making early puzzles more accessible. The goal is purely to connect all matching colours without intersections.
Level & Content Design
This title includes 220 puzzles, ranging from 4×4 to 12×12 grids. Later levels introduce ‘blocked cells’ that cannot be traversed, forcing detours. Difficulty progression is achieved by increasing the number of colour pairs (up to 10) and adding obstacles. New puzzles are released as free downloadable content twice per year – users receive notification via email (optional). No in-app purchases are present.
Visuals & Experience
Sleek, contemporary interface with a light/dark theme toggle. Colours are distinct and labelled with patterns (stripes, dots) for colourblind accessibility. Paths are drawn with rounded corners, giving a polished look. The canvas auto-scrolls when dragging near edges on larger boards. Haptic confirmation on mobile devices upon successful connection.
Key Features
A ‘solve preview’ button demonstrates the first three moves of a solution (consumes a one-time use per puzzle, replenished after 24 hours). ‘Challenge mode’ imposes a move limit, but this is optional. No global leaderboards are included to avoid competitive stress. Local save slots allow multiple family members to maintain separate progress.
User Value
LinkTint sharpens logical deduction and systematic elimination skills. The relaxed ‘empty cells allowed’ rule reduces frustration for beginners. It serves as an effective cognitive warm-up before work or study sessions.
Usage Scenarios
Ideal for short bursts – while waiting for a kettle to boil, during a TV advertisement break, or as a five-minute focus reset between tasks. Its light resource usage makes it suitable for older devices.
