Core Gameplay
Spectrum Knot is a variation of the ‘untangle’ genre. Each puzzle displays a board where colour pairs are connected, but many lines cross. You may freely move any line segment to a new path, provided you maintain connectivity of that colour pair. The objective is to eliminate all crossings. Unlike Chroma Knot, you may also add or remove segments as long as the connection remains continuous.
Level & Content Design
This title features 220 puzzles, ranging from simple 4×4 (2 pairs) to complex 12×12 (7 pairs). A unique ‘entropy’ meter shows how tangled the current state is. The puzzle is solved when the meter reaches zero. No procedural generation is used; all puzzles are authored. No updates are planned beyond the initial set.
Visuals & Experience
A sketchbook style – hand-drawn lines, slightly imperfect circles for dots, and a parchment background. The crossing detection is real-time, with intersecting lines pulsing faintly red. Drawing is fluid, with a ‘rubber band’ preview while dragging. Sound effects mimic pencil on paper (mutable).
Key Features
An ‘auto-simplify’ button attempts one small local improvement (does not solve the puzzle). A crossing counter displays the current number of intersections. Unlimited undo/redo. No scores, no timers, no leaderboards. Entirely offline.
