Description
Core Gameplay
Chroma Shift combines colour connection with swapping. The board contains coloured dots, but you cannot draw paths directly. Instead, you swap adjacent cells (like a sliding puzzle) to bring matching colours together. When two matching colours become orthogonally adjacent, they connect and are removed from the board. The goal is to clear all colour pairs by swapping.
Level & Content Design
This product features 260 puzzles, each starting with a scrambled arrangement of coloured cells. Swaps are limited (a counter shows remaining swaps). Some puzzles have ‘locked’ cells that cannot be moved. Puzzle sizes range from 4×4 to 8×8. Difficulty increases by the number of colour pairs and swap limits. No updates.
Visuals & Experience
A clean, modern interface with smooth tile sliding animations. When two matching colours connect, a gentle ‘merge’ effect occurs. The background is a neutral light grey. Sound effects are soft and optional. Swapping is drag-and-drop or click-and-click.
Key Features
A ‘swap counter’ tracks remaining moves. An ‘undo swap’ button (unlimited). A hint system highlights a pair of cells whose swap would create a connection. No timers, no leaderboards. All data stored locally.
User Value
Chroma Shift improves short-term planning and resource management (limited swaps). It offers a different cognitive angle compared to drawing-based puzzles. The satisfaction comes from efficiently clearing the board with minimal swaps.
Usage Scenarios
Great for short, focused sessions – while waiting for a bus, during a coffee break, or as a five-minute brain teaser before a meeting.
